Bridges

We have been having a fabulous time learning about bridges. We talked about different ways we could get across a river. We thought that we could use rocks or logs, we could swim across, get a boat, use stepping stones or float on a piece of wood. We then anwsered the question: Is a log bridge a good bridge? We thought about why it might not be a good bridge and came up with some interesting ideas such as: The leaves would be in the way. It's round and you could fall off. It's slippery if it gets wet. Big things can't get on. It's too narrow. It could roll. Mrs Sneddon then got us experiment with making our own bridges in the classroom. We worked well together to problem solve and had lots of fun!
