Our favourite experiment this week was making a volcano. We built a mountain of sand the put some baking soda, dishwashing liquid and red dye in a small container into the 'crater'. When the vinegar was poured in it looked like a volcano with the red lava running down the side. Mixing the vinegar and baking soda had caused a REACTION and there was some carbon dioxide gas coming off.
